And so it begins...
Once again I have decided to start up this blog again. I realize that I don't have time for much so I want to remember as much as I can. I first started this blog to capture all of Rosalynn's milestones and to be able to show her when she got older. After Moss was born I wanted to do the same but life with two kids got a bit hectic. So here I am AGAIN! Now that the kids are a little older and they have somewhat of a schedule I have decided to add this to my ever growing plate.
Lets recap...
Rosalynn is almost THREE and about to start her second year of preschool! Oh and no more paci!! Moss is ONE and gets into everything! I have started my own business on Etsy and have become a Beachbody coach (more on that later.) Kevin has an amazing job running his own construction company. We have bought a beautiful new home that we can't wait to see our babies grow up in. I think that pretty sums up the big changes in our lives. So far life is great and we are enjoying every minute of it.
I'm going to go enjoy the last few minutes of nap time I have left. I hope you enjoyed my little recap and stay tune for more details on our little family!

Happy Birthday Rosalynn
Rosalynn,
Today is your day. You are TWO years old! I can't believe how fast time has flown by. You are growing up do fast that it seems like I can hardly keep up. We don't know where to start or how to begin to explain how much we love you. You made us parents. You gave us the greatest gift!
Rosalynn you are one inquisitive little girl. At two years old, you are daddy's little girl and such a great big sister. You are sweet, sometimes polite, and a daredevil. You are usually climbing on things, giving the best hugs ever, or asking for your shoes. We are amazed at the little lady you are becoming.
You have a sassy attitude and you know it. You are not afraid to say "no" a million times if it's not what you want. You also aren't afraid to tell us what you want and make sure that we hear you. You are our little spit fire. You went from saying a couple of words to almost making complete sentences. Your new favorite phrases are "aww baby," whenever you give anyone a hug or "oh cool" when you see a toy you want. You know all of the parts of the face which you proceed to repeat over and over again and point it out every chance you get.
You were born to be a big sister. At first you didn't really know what to make of Moss or why he was always on me. You would get a bit jealous but now you are his biggest fan. You always have to be next to him. You love giving him kisses and making him laugh. Hugs are a must every morning and when be cries you run to his side. He is lucky to have you as a big sister and you him.
I can go on and on about how wonderful and amazing you are but I would be typing all day. You have blessed us in a way that we can't describe and we am forever thankful. You are one of the reasons that our lives are so complete. Thank you for being the silly, sweet girl we love so much. Daddy and I love you and are so proud of you.

Moss's 5 Month Update
Once again a month has gone by in the blink of an eye. I can't believe this year is almost over. Also I can't believe that my baby is growing up. Moss turned 5 months old today...sob.
With Rosalynn everytime she turned a month older or reached a new milestone I was over the moon. Moss it's a different story. Even though I am happy he is getting older and reaching milestone it slightly sucks. He is my the last baby I am going to have. The last time I'll get excited about a baby rolling over or discovering his hand. It pulls at my heart strings.
Even though him getting older sucks it also does have it's perks like his sleeping throughout the night...score! Also he LOVES dinner time! Rosalynn was never a fan of cereal but he can't get enough...literally. Also he is a talker. He waks up talking and even does it in his sleep. The cutest thing ever. He is still in love with his sister and she can put a smile on his face in no time. Baths are welcomed with big splashes and giggles. This is definitely a fun stage and even though it does suck I can't wait for him to get older and to see more of his personality come out.

Moss Everett 4 Month Update
It's been four months since we were blessed with our little boy. It's crazy how fast time is flying by. We can't get enough of him. He gives you that dimply smile every time he makes eye contact with you. He blows raspberries and has the best laugh ever! He is the sweetest thing.
He slept for a good solid 6 hours straight after the first time eating cereal. Yay for me. He is still sleeping in our room because it's just easier for me since I am nursing and he is starting to roll and move around a lot more so I can keep an eye on him.
Last week was his check up and I couldn't wait to find out his measurements. He smiled as soon as he saw the doctor which the doctor loved. He weighs 16.6lbs and is 26 inches long. Those were Rosalynn's measurements at 6 months. (Big boy!!) He is above average for both weight and height which makes this mama feel damn good!
We got the go ahead for cereal so we started that on Saturday. He did much better than Rosalynn. He opened his mouth as soon as he saw the spoon. This boy knows when good is coming lol. He made a few faces so after a few bites we stopped. The next day (yesterday) was much better! He ate ALL of it. I nurse him right after he is done. I wondered how it would be once I introduced solids but it's pretty easy. I was stressed over nothing.

The thing we need to work on is naps. He is not much of a napper. He will take little cat naps but not a solid full nap. I'm working on that but it's hard when you have a crazy loud toddler who loves to be near her brother and follows me everywhere so I can never put him down while he is asleep.
He is holding his head up great and has even taken a turn or two in his jumper. He loves being on the floor playing on his mat. His toes have been his favorite toy and chewing on them his most recent activity. Love that milestone!
He is completely in love with Rosalynn. Whenever she walks into the room he smiles from ear to ear. He loves when she talks to him and tickles him. After bath hugs are a must before I nurse him and she goes to bed. Also she has been helping me give him a bath.
I am so in love with their little relationship and can't wait to watch them grow up!
Happy 4 months my little chubster!!

Moss's Two Month Update
Age: 2 Months
Weight: 13.1 lbs (80%)
Height: 24 1/2 inches (93%)
I can't believe our little guy is two months old already. Time sure flies when you are trying to juggle a toddler and a baby. It seems just like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital trying to figure out how we would do everything. Time goes by faster when your days blend together due to lack of sleep.
He is starting to be more aware of his surroundings and is becoming more sensitive to certain sounds and peoples. He smiles like crazy when we look and talk to him. I am in love with his baby rolls, chubby thighs, and wrists. He has the cutest dimples and I love making him smile just to see them. His hair seems to be getting longer and surprisingly lighter. He loves baths and splashing water all over the place.
He is such a snuggle bug and loves to get right in your neck. The closer the better. He is slowly becoming a great night time sleeper, only waking up once during the night. He usually wakes up between 6:30-7:00 and nurses then tries to nap right away but Rosalynn makes that hard. Naps during the day are few and far in between. He takes one good hour or hour and a half nap in the morning between 9-11 in his crib and then takes little cat naps throughout the day in his rocker.
Even though Moss and Rosalynn look similar as babies they are very much different. Rosalynn didn't want to nurse at all and latched on to a bottle and pacifier right away. Moss on the other hand is a champ at nursing and doesn't care much about a bottle or pacifier. Also he has been such a great sleeper already as oppose to Rosalynn who didn't sleep through the night until after she was one. I love how they have some similarities but it will be fun to see how different having a boy is from having a girl.
Moss, we love you so much and you are the best addition to our little family. These two months have gone by too fast and I can't wait to watch you grow.
Happy Two Months my little chubster.

One Day at a Time
This week has been anything but easy (well I had one good day.) When I found out I was pregnant with Moss I was told being a mom of two under two would be hard. They weren't kidding. This week has been proof of that.
Mondays usually suck because well there Mondays and Kevin goes back to work. Rosalynn has been hitting those "terrible twos" a little bit early. Lets just say I don't know how I have a voice left by the end of the day. Tantrums have become a regularity in our household.
Tuesday was the good day I was talking about. I recently decided to join a local mom group. On Tuesday I went to our local kids interactive center to meet the moms and their little ones. Rosalynn had a blast playing with all the toys and climbing up the slide. Yes you read right climbing up. By the time we got home she was ready for her nap and knocked out. She took a nice long nap..YAY!
Wednesday and Thursday was another story. She did anything and everything she could to piss me off and then some. She loves climbing on top of stuff and jumping off them. Getting into things she knows she can't play with and just being a little terror. Don't let the cute face fool you.
She loves testing her boundaries and my patience. For some reason she has a need to pull out every single baby wipe from the box, all of the diapers spread all over he floor, crayons in every room, and her potty in the living room. Don't worry she hasn't used it yet and I don't think she knows what it's for. She just likes sitting on it with the lid down or using her crayon to make it more colorful.

We have our good days and our bad days but no two days are the same. Moss for the most part is a great baby! All he needs is milk and a clean butt and he is happy. I'm still trying to figure out his nap schedule so fingers crossed.
Don't get me wrong I love being a mom and I wouldn't trade my life for anything in the world. Sometimes I still can't believe that I'm this lucky and I get to be their mom. Being a mom is the hardest yet most rewarding thing I could ever possibly do. Everyday is a new adventure and I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
Yay for the weekend!

The First Month Must Haves
I have decided to start doing a list of the things that we could not live without during the first month with a newborn and toddler. I didn't add the items that Rosalynn favors or what we use to distract her (that will be in a later post) because the list could go on and on. I mainly focus on what can help during that first month. This list of course doesn't state the obvious necessities like diapers, bottles, pacis, etc. But, this is the list of the things that make MY life and mornings a bit easier.
Keurig- This is a must in our household and for this momma. I love that I can turn it on while I am getting Rosalynn's breakfast ready and press a button and voila..coffee. Also you can program it to turn on and MAKE your coffee at a certain time. Moss is hungry and inpatient first thing in the am so I need something that works fast and makes damn good coffee. I would be a walking zombie without this.
Avent Breast Pump- Even though I have only used this once I highly recommend it. It was super easy to assemble and use. I love how it brings four bottles and comes in a handy travel bag. We decided on this pump since we are familiar with this brand and it wasn't as expensive as the others. I know once Moss gets older and his feedings become less frequent I will be using this.
Sakura Bloom- I can not say enough good things about this sling!! With Rosalynn we tried a couple of wraps and slings and they just didn't work out so I was a bit hesitant to purchase one for Moss. I asked my mommy friends and they all raved about this wrap so I made the jump and got one. I was pleasantly surprised. It is EASY to use and very lightweight. Moss enjoys is and it comes in handy when going to the store with two little ones.
Lansinoh Breast Pads- If you are breast feeding then you know how wonderful these are. They do a great job at keeping your shirt dry and they don't look bumpy or make you look like you have pointy nipples under your shirt.
Nap Nanny- Before you say anything yes I know they have been recalled and are discontinued. We got this when Rosalynn was little and she was giving us a problem sleeping and boy did it work!! She loved it and would fall right asleep as soon as she was in it. We never left her unattended and followed all the rules. Moss now sleeps in it and he sleeps like an angel.
Monkey Bouncer- Hello life saver!!!! This has become my favorite baby item! We originally were going to use Rosalynn's old swing but with a toddler running around decided against it and purchased this. We keep it on top of our couch so its not as easy for Rosalynn to climb over or bother the baby when he is sleeping. It has some great features like songs, noises, and a vibrating setting but we hardly use those. He just falls right asleep. Also when Rosalynn and I are on the floor playing I am able to put it on the floor and he can see what his big sister is doing and she can give him kisses.
Boppy Pillow- This pillow should be a staple in any registry and nursery. I use this mostly while breastfeeding Moss. It gives me the ability to have my hands free just in case Rosalynn needs something or I'm eating (which is all the time). I have used it also to lay him on his side so he isn't always on his back and also for tummy time. This time around I have used it so much more and am glad that I actually kept it.
Hope this is helpful for first time moms and soon-to-be moms. I hope these items make your day a bit easier and gives you more time to enjoy your little ones.
Here is a picture of the Boppy pillow in action thanks to Rosalynn and a cute one of Moss.
It's almost the weekend.
